LAS VEGAS, April 1, 2021 — In honor of Autism Awareness Month, Lexicon Bank, Nevada’s community-focused banking partner, will work with the Collaboration Center Foundation (CCF) and Grant A Gift Autism Foundation (GGAF) to raise funds and support their mission to enhance the lives of those living with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities in Southern Nevada. Lexicon Bank will serve as the title sponsor for the Collaboration Center Foundation’s Blue Lights Celebration on April 3rd with a cash donation, and supply fidget spinners and masks for participants attending the event. The Bank will also participate in the Virtual Race for Hope April 9-16 with Grant A Gift Autism Foundation by collecting donations to support the cause. 

This partnership with The Collaboration Center is a part of the Lexicon Bank Community Spotlight program, a monthly initiative that highlights local non-profit organizations that are making a difference in the Southern Nevada community.

The Collaboration Center Foundation at Las Vegas Ranch is a five-acre campus serving individuals and families touched by Autism and other intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities of all ages. Services on CCF’s campus include speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavior therapy, physical therapy, education therapy and academic tutoring, life skill camps, recreation, healthcare transition and more.

Lexicon Bank will support the Foundation on an ongoing basis through active volunteerism by Lexicon Bank Founder John Miller and his wife Jacki, current Collaboration Center Foundation Treasurer, through 2021. In 2020, the Millers received the Foundation’s Executive Leadership award for their compassionate service.

Grant a Gift Autism Foundation (GGAF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to help children, young adults and their families master autism by providing assessment and treatment funding; combined with support services, vocational training and transition planning.

More than eleven percent of Nevadan children fall somewhere on the autism spectrum. Unfortunately, these numbers continue to rise each year, and since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began tracking autism rates in 2000, the rate has more than doubled from one in 150 to one in 54. Many of the challenges that autistic children face, including a shortage of resources and personalized care in the classroom, have been made only worse by the COVID-19 pandemic.
