The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada
For over 25 years, The Center has cared for, championed, and celebrated LGBTQ+ individuals and underserved populations in Nevada. They function as the heart and home of the LGBTQ+ community by making connections, delivering programs, and providing a safe space for health and wellness, social services, arts and culture, advocacy, and community building. Ongoing Center programs support LGBTQ+ youth, adults, families, seniors, vets, people with disabilities, those living with HIV, and underserved populations.
Lexicon Bank is a proud partner and supporter of The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada. In 2019, we issued a mortgage refinance loan preserving the landmark location when many big banks turned them away and most recently delivered a PPP loan ensuring consistent essential services to our community. This March, we are pleased to spotlight and continue support through advocacy as well as a $5,000 cash donation to expand the Arlene Cooper Community Health Center during LGBTQ Health Awareness Week happening through March 22 to March 26.
In response to the continuing health crisis faced by LGBTQ people that has been made only worse by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately affected LGBTQ people and, in particular, LGBTQ people of color, The Center has launched a campaign to significantly increase their health and wellness services by offering for the first time a comprehensive program of services including full-service primary care and a pharmacy that will complement The Center’s existing HIV and STI testing and mental health services.
