Shine A Light
Shine a Light is a 501(c)3 nonprofit homeless outreach and placement service that helps the hundreds of homeless men, women, and children in the greater Las Vegas area. Its primary focus is individuals who live in the underground flood channels of Las Vegas. The program prides itself on going into the depths of the storm-drain system and engaging this underserved, hidden population on a personal level.
Lexicon Bank announces Shine A Light as its December community spotlight. The Bank has made a monetary donation to the local organization and will be attending the Shine a Light gala in December to further advocate and raise awareness to help assist the homeless community living in the underground tunnels of Las Vegas.
According to Business Insider, over 1,000 people have found shelter in the storm drains that run under the city of Las Vegas. Shine A Light is committed to helping support each client that opts into its Instant Placement with Access to Treatment and Housing (IPATH) continuum through each stage of their recovery and transition from chronic homelessness.
